Charter Home Rule simply makes good sense for Frederick. It gives us a system of checks and balances, which we don’t have today. A business can’t succeed with 5 CEOs and our County government can’t either. A County Executive will have the decision-making authority to boost our economy and run the County more efficiently.

-- Ric Adams, President
Frederick County Chamber of Commerce

188 strangers in Annapolis don’t know what is best for Frederick. But they are the ones who are making our decisions for us. Charter Home Rule will bring decision-making back home to Frederick, where it belongs. It’s all about local decisions on local issues.

-- Karlys Kline, Co-Chair
Charter Education Coalition

The Maryland General Assembly should not be making decisions on Frederick County’s local issues. Having served as County Commission
for 8 years and as Delegate for 10 years, I believe that Frederick citizens know best how to shape our future.

--The Honorable Galen Clagett
Maryland House of Delegates

Frederick County teachers know that the time is right for Charter . It clearly establishes two branches of government, so no single branch has too much power. The Council County will set overall policies for the community. The County Executive will set clear priorities and run the government more efficiently, and without undue influences.

-- Gary Brennan, President
Frederick County Teachers Association

It’s time for Frederick County to have the same rights as Harford and Howard counties…to make local decisions at a local level. It’s time for a change. That’s why I support Charter Home Rule.

-- Debra Borden
Frederick County Charter Board

Charter Home Rule will help bring more State funding home for things like education and transportation. Our elected County Executive will have a seat at the table when State leaders talk about local funding. We don’t have that now. And when you don’t have a seat at the table, you are on the menu. Frederick County Democrats fully support Charter Home Rule.

-- Myrna Whitworth, Chair
Democratic Central Committee

Charter Home Rule will ensure more fair representation of all citizens throughout Frederick County. It means good government that discourages patronage and corruption and promotes integrity by its elected and appointed officials. And because the Council will be elected from five districts as well as at large, a wider field of diverse candidates can run for these Council positions.
